In 2007, Mazda sponsored a driving event in my city, in the parking lot of a local stadium. They offered the opportunity to drive their full lineup, with competing models for comparison. Among them was the Mazdaspeed 6. It went like a scalded cat and cornered well despite a bit of understeer. Overall, it was great fun! I wished for the estate version to be offered with the Mazdaspeed bits but that wasn't to be. Still, I came *this* 🤏🏼 close to buying one but instead chose a 2006 Pontiac GTO. To this day, I wonder if I would have been happier with the Mazda. 🤔
