I wouldn't call 40k affordable but ok
it's twice the price of a pretty cheap new car, like a jetta or a kona or a cheap impreza, also after like 5-15 years of work it will become pretty affordable for a carguy, i know some people in the military who own really nice corvettes.
I believe they stopped making them recently, which is a shame
