Of course this wasn't MY ride - but I was assigned as a driver of this vehicle for my entire career in the Washington National Guard. I'll never forget my first military driver's test. "You see that road over there?" My Platoon Sergeant asked, pointing across a stretch of rocky desert to a road off in the distance. "Yes, Sergeant?" "Get us over there, now," he commanded. I looked at my steering wheel, and back out the window, and back to the steering wheel, and pulled hard to the right. We bounded across the desert and it was beautiful.
