After Big Red, I decided it was time to own a manual transmission and I thought decent MPG might be fun for a change. I found a little brown '81 Civic just like this one. Although she never got a name, she had a 1.3-liter engine and 13-inch wheels, which I did my best to drive completely off running all over Houston in my early twenties. I taught two friends how to drive a manual with the patient assistance of this little gem. Her sad demise came on a rain-slicked road when a Chevy Trailblazer failed to stop and crushed her rear end. No injuries if you don't count t my broken heart. 😢

    • I did, too. It looked pretty in sunlight. A little bitty car with a little bitty engine but so much fun. I get the attraction to the Mini, having owned this tny Honda. 🙂

  • That's an awesomely cute car. Quite rare as well.

  • Woah! These are very rare now. Which is hilarious because of how common modern civics are. I’ve only ever seen one of these in my life

    • It was a fun little car! It had little 13" wheels and I was able to replace all four tires for about the cost of one tire on the Corvette. 😂
