  • I wish I lived closer

  • Jan, this is one automobile museum I’d really like to visit. Shelby was active until his passing, and to see how his touch turned an unknown British sports car, (the AC Bristol), a Ford Mustang Fastback and the Ford GT into a Shelby empire, is the story of the ultimate entrepreneur.

The Ford VS Ferrari movie portrays a major part of his legacy, and while I’m not an expert on Shelby, I believe he did a number of projects with Detroit manufacturers other than Ford.

Two photos I especially enjoyed are the collage which I enlarged and browsed around, and the 50th anniversary Cobra 427 in light metallic grey rather than the traditional blue.

    Great article and great photos!

    • Thanks David. I like the collage too. Did you read the letters associated with his racing jackets? Jan

    • Yes, he had to pay for them but later they were free.

  • Bill Daily who played Major Healey on I Dream of Jennie had a soft top dark green KR500. Oh, and Dwayne Hickman who played Dobie Gillis had a maroon Impala about a 68, he still owes me $3.27. And Frankie Avalon had a brown and tan 280SL like 69 or 70. Ya, I'm old with first hand knowledge.

  • Looks like fun. However, I wish car museums would put some space between cars. I know real estate is expensive, but put 2 fewer cars in the lineup so we can walk around them and see the interiors.
