  • Why can't car makers come up with a new name for their stupid SUVs ?

  • Australians seem to be forcing the transition to EVs, not the Australian government. PHEVs are possibly still a worthwhile option in that benighted continent until it gets a better charging infrastructure. However, this also seems to be accelerating exponentially as 'green' generating facilities are appearing all over the place, with Tesla and other Companies fitting giant battery banks into the infrastructure in order to keep the power flowing even when the sun's the other side of the planet. With such a huge land mass and so much of it in near constant sunlight (except at night, obviously, duh) Australia should be relatively;y easy to become wholly self sufficient in green energy generation, with the consequential use of full EV uptake becoming that much quicker than so many other continents. Until then, the great distances between centres of population means that vehicles capable of doing them are going to continue to be in demand.
