  • Definitely undervalued and definitely will go up in the future. As you will probably never be able to buy another V 10 super sedan again.

    • This article sounds like it was written by a 16 year old who just discovered they put V10’s in the old M6-M6

Everybody knows about them and why they’re undervalued. Lol it’s because they’re bricks of car once’s they get miles on them because...

    • Almost every BMW article by a BMW adherent is like it was written by a 10 year old. It's also how they drive.

  • Excellent article!

Like most others, I have heard only the downside of owning one of these. As previous owner of BMW's, the last being a e24 M6 with Dinan Chip and Dinan Stage 2 suspension, I know how reliable these cars can be. My M6 was my daily driver. That's how reliable it was. I grinned every morning I walked into my garage. That machine handled like nothing else I have ever driven. My first BMW, 325e, handled very well and was so much fun to drive I just fell in love. Then the M6 came into the picture. That changed my perspective on what could be done with a car. I truly loved that car. Had to watch it drive away on what would have been my fifth wedding anniversary. I cried. Not because of the woman, but because of the car. Previous owner cried as I drove her away from him. He told me the original owner did the same. That's how much these cars can stir a soul. The V10 monsters can only be amplified. Turned way up past 11. I want the engine but dropped into a longroof. Give me a V10 estate!!! (yeah, I hear you Audi)

    • That's the magic of the E chassis cars. Sure, the E60/E61 M5 and M6 might be flawed, but man do those things just emote as a driving device, in terms of handling, steering, chassis communication/balance, etc., all while still handling daily...

  • I think its because they are hella unreliable

    • They aren’t though, that’s why they’re such bargains. If maintained and driven properly, they’re more reliable than many other BMW’s that don’t have such an unfairly tarnished reputation.

    • Your comment makes only sense if we're talking about a new car. On used cars you never know if they got the proper service.

  • There is always a reason for a vehicle to be 'undervalued'. The trick is knowing this before you're the poor sucker that ends up buying one. It's almost always the cost of ownership.

    • The cost of ownership really isn’t all that bad, especially for a car with what could be said as having a supercar drivetrain. Most of these cars, if serviced and driven correctly are very reliable, actually more so than many lesser BMW’s.

    • The problem all expensive and complex cars have in common, is that they need constant care and attention. Given that, they're perfectly fine. The problem arises with owners after the first one. They buy used because they cannot afford new. ...
