Quite reductionist, very inaccurate. Getting this effect through simply ignition timing is intentionally misfiring the engine, causing damage to far more than just the turbo and exhaust. Most race spec anti lag systems consist of an air AND fuel injection system directly into the turbo manifold.

Yes, but the question is how often do you want to rebuild your turbo?
EJ25 WRX's, STi's have anti lag system built in. The feature just needs turning on in the ECU.
