Sounds fabulous. The 1UZ is a 90s 4.0 V8 producing at least 256bhp according to wikipedia. And this is supercharged and has nitrous. So that 230hp figure makes no sense to me...
I must admit, i do REALLY like when people do stuff like this. I also admire classic restoration projects, and originals, equally as much as a contemporary/resto-mod.
But I just love it when folk go against the grain, purely because they have a sick idea and want to create it. I say good on him!! Looks abaolutely Beast.
If i made one concession to the resto-modded bavarian, it would've been to fit a NA B58 (from 340i/X5) into the engine bay. Im very certain though that the 1UZ moves it along in a sufficiently exuberant manner. Id just have preferred the sound (and authenticity) from the B58 V8, thats my personal preference and its not my build... so old mate can definitely do as he pleases without any criticism from me. Although wide bidy kits can be a bit old hat these days, they still have their place. In this instance, it actually complements the shape of the car, whilst lending to the low muscular, aggressive vibe of this build. The grey has a enough blue in it to be a noticeable difference from Nardo, but the nardo-esque colour does lend itself to that tough but elegant/sleek vibe. Are there things I'd have done differently? Perhaps. Is this Beemer sick af..? Hell yes ✌🏼
