I have the g29 and its great bang for your buck and good wheel/pedals and has excellent feedback.. Not sure why they say its noisy though, its got very quiet operation. My previous driving force gt wheel was noisy. I use a wheelstand pro as my base, which makes for a great compact setup that can be folded away in a closet easily.
Brake pedal on the g920 is ungodly stiff. Often have to recalibrate the deadzone in the settings for the brakes. But assetto corsa is a dream on this wheel

I just remember it being a little noisier than other wheels but that could have been a one-off :)

you can remove the rubber behind the brake pedal. there is a video on youtube if I'm not mistaken

It's not actually that important, except for people who think max settings are realistic. More isn't necessarily better.
