- Driverless cars but are still remote controlled??
- eliminate blind spots… really, screens do that, not!
- using footballers.. accident liability is higher.
I don’t want to tempt fate but this is an accident waiting to happen, surely FC players can drive themselves to the players car park……right outside the FC club.
Makes sense to do this in Milton Keynes, good motor industry and any crashes will most likely cause small improvements to the local infrastructure! reason this makes the most sense is that MK is the home of the roundabout (being a 1970s new town project). I grew up in another (Washington Tyne and Wear). Whenever I take my Tesla to see my folks, the autodrive can’t handle a roundabout - clearly they don’t have many in California! If you’re autonomous drive can navigate roundabouts and avoid hitting teenagers in track suits on e-scooters then it’s probably set up to take on the world!
They could crash into large parts of MK and it wouldn’t make too much of a negative impact. But it will be interesting to see how the remotely driven bots handle the plethora of roundabouts. I can imagine that it’d be best described as jerky.
Why are they using a g29?! I jave a g29 because I can’t afford a direct drive wheel. It’s alright for 200-300 quid or whatever but it’s hardly worthy for driving an actual car on the road! Massive deadzone in the center… flimsy plastic clips holding it to the desk… buttons that get jammed down… randomly recalibrating every now and then… ffs what a joke

Oh I’m not saying it makes much sense. I feel it’s just a high profile software test being run by someone who supports MK Dons opposition.
The remotely controlled thing is partly there as a safety measure too? Why they are doing it at the...

Sure it will work as a gimmick for a bit, but I wouldn’t be surprised if it caused some accidents, or just didn’t catch on.

Considering what a dump Milton Keynes is I can only assume they’re one way cars - out
