  • Interesting. I believe cars already grant us superpowers. I can run at least 10 times as fast even in my Panda. I can also carry more. It makes sense.

    • Indeed. I've always known Pandas are fast and furious beasts!

Thank you for the comment. Glad you liked the article.

    • I can imagine you as the King James driving your Ferrari 458 or your Panda.

  • Will you write anything about Plato's cave any time soon? I feel intrigued by how you'd combine cars with his "cave". Lol. But seriously, I liked the article!

    • Plato is in my plans, but he won't start in the article soon. I've already overemphasized ancients in my previous texts :)

  • I think the drivers' councils will work not only for Northern Wales. In theory. But look at this from another perspective: why not establishing educational, medical, electrical, gardening councils either? We'll end up with hundreds of councils where all people living in the area would be obliged to participate. This is nonsense!

  • I like reading your articles. Jean-Jacques Rousseau is an another example analysing how people vote for the social rules. In his philosophy, the social contract (or the Contrat Social for the purists) is a compromise inspired by Aristotle, Thomas Hobbes or John Locke. Why a man choose social rules for people (the king) using all the powers he had acquired by his ancestors? We can translate it in the motoring world. Who chose the diesel/petrol cars were better than the steam car or the electric cars at the beginning of the 20th? John Rockfeller and Henry Ford were Louis XIV and Richelieu (for France) or Henry VIII and Thomas Wolsey (for the UK).

    • Thank you for the comment. The introduction of the Social Contract was indeed a milestone in the social sciences. And I do like your analogy to cars. Actually, I may give it a thought!

  • Interesting take. If I understand correctly what you are saying is that if Aristotle were alive today, he would put speed cameras in.

    • Thank you for your comment. Actually, Aristotle would not put cameras in. As the Chief Constable, he would have no "powers," actually. The Driver's Council would decide on everything, including the cameras. Aristotle would need to...
