  • You can tell that this and the ID3 come from the stable, same cheaper plastics, gauge cluster looks similar, laggy infotainment.

    The only thing I don’t get about VW is why disregard come of the core VW traits such as quality? This is probably the repercussion of dieselgate, we’d have continued to get the quality had people not gone down the litigation route.

  • This is basically the “Jetta” of SUVs. I test drove one of these with my gf but we decided to go with the Passat for her. They aren’t making them anymore but in this market, a new Passat was one of the best value props out there. Roomy, good mileage, not too much that can break or need maintenance. The Taos was made to satisfy the US’s growing SUV culture but it barley can fit 4 people. Nice vehicle but we passed for a more proven model that checked more boxes. Of course the Passat was $29k, not sure what they wanted for the Taos but it was comparable.
