  • First and foremost, I am Dutch, so when it comes to Max I am just as bias as some British fans here are about Lewis. However....

This race should have been won by Lewis, he showed us a superior drive to Max's drive. Max screwed up already with what he called a 'poop-start'. The Honda powered RBR was no match for Lewis' Merc. In comes tactics. Red Bull showed far superior skills on that front. Taking initiative on pitstops and fully taking advantage of VSC and later the SC situation caused by Latifi. We can only wonder what some comments would have been if it was a Honda powered car that would have caused the SC to come out. Again, both stables were matched equally for different reasons, like it has been al season.

RB was awake and on the ball, switching Max to reasonable new reds. The decision to take the lapped cars away between Lewis and Max just made Max overtake sooner in that last round. None of those drivers would have been hindering Max in the battle for the Championship and Lewis had no chance on his worn out whites.

I think the outcome as it is now, might not have been the right reflection of this last race, that should have been Lewis'. But I do feel it does reflect this season. Max Verstappen being the champion of the drivers, Mercedes being the champion of the constructors.

    Looking forward to next season.

  • It is a shame that the circumstances in Abu Dhabi will, for some time yet, overshadow this season where either driver would have deserved the title, though the right man won. Hopefully over the next 90+ days multiple things will happen to improve those areas that need some serious improvement, I cannot say for certain that these things did not or would not have happened under the stewardship of Bernie and Charlie but if they did/had they would have been handled a damn sight better and not in public. Lessons need to be learnt and learnt well.
