Jan, did you notice if any Italian manufacturers make automotive air bags? It hard to believe, but 19 different automobile makers are waiting to replace defective Takata air bags in 42 million vehicles equating to 67 million individual air bags, just in the USA.
Admittedly, these vary from high safety risk to low risk and will be replaced by priority. There seems to be a real business opportunity to fill this back order.
Did this subject ever come up during your visits to the vendors at this trade fair? Maybe you could become a go between. I’m only half serious, but at the current rate, it will take decades to eliminate these recalls. David.
I only spoke briefly with one vendor about pumps that they make. My 2011 Mustang (which I sold a couple of years ago) eventually had its airbag replaced under the recall.
