All Electric

  • People would be talking just as much about ICE if it happened to a Chiron or Koenigsegg etc, especially as ICE is consistently being put under more pressure by the "revolution". The reason it's talked about is because a very famous car went boom boom in the hands of a famous man. That's not EV hate, it's more like memeology 😂

  • Well written article and great comments. The main reason why people talk about the crash is because of EV hate. Now, why is there EV hate? That's the more interesting question. In my opinion, one of the reason is because EV used to be an outside technology, something out of the norm. Humans love familiarity and will frown upon change. EVs are slowly becoming mainstream and minds are being changed but some are still stuck in the past.

  • To be honest, I haven't seen much about the incident other than Hammond having binned yet another vehicle. THAT'S the gag. He walked away so we can tease the ever loving snot out of the guy. What does he care? Richard can piss away more money than I can possibly make in my remaining years. He's fair game.

The car burned because it was an EV and there was not proper fire fighting equipment on hand. End of story. That certain publications reuse the incident as a kind of testimony against EV technology is absurd. There's no link. No causation. A fire happened due to a wreck. It couldn't be properly extinguished - which is not the fault of the vehicle or manufacturer. There's no story. Nothing to reference.

Great write up. But I think Rimac is off on a rocket ship to their destination of Mate's choosing at this point. It's his game to lose. Let's see what this guy can do with the future.

  • If someone flips a Bugatti or a Porsche or an xxxx down a mountain, it will certainly be crashed and also burn out. But no-one will talk about it more than necessary.

As Richard is NOT a pro racing driver, things happen to him, too. See?

I guess people talk about this very crash longer and more often because it's been with the car of a younger company - had it been F1 or other, wouldn't have happened.

Let it rest, because RIMACs techies are already into it and working it out! And no, it was NOT the car's fault.

Crash my Volvo down the mountain and it will burn. Will it be Volvo's fault?? Nah.

    So... leave it be, already.

  • I think you are the only one who hasn't moved on

    • Quite possibly. I wrote it because I was annoyed after watching a video. I’m a massive fan of Rimac and no longer think only about the crash when I hear of them, but I probably haven’t fully moved on from it yet ;)
