I got to use for a year company's 5yo Megane that already had some 170k on the clock. After all those kms with average diesel and crappy roads, being driven by 4 coworkers before me, the poor thing was a tired car.
One day, I filled her up with some branded 'superdiesel' to reward it a bit 😂 and set off to a 150 km away city.
The poor thing blew its turbo hose right off 😂 It was a hissing and whistling way back home.
I would recommend using a cetane booster, I do in my blue Seat Leon that I’ve had a little work done to you can find out more at the garage part of my page, she runs a little more happily with the cetane.

To be able to use octane boost you'd have to have petrol available
@Britain
Also a different, much more convenient solution is, buy higher octane petrol
Only shortages in the South East and larger cities.... Away from those areas, where the sensible folk live (me) there are no shortages....
Plenty fuel here 🏴
Just buy better fuel and forget the additives.

Or buy 30 bottles in lieu of a tank of impossible to find petrol
Do cetane boosters work for mapped diesels? 🤔

Might try it and see if it makes a difference to mine.
