  • Right at this second, Musk and SpaceX hold the record for the most ridiculous, heavy thing to ever escape Earth's gravity well. I can only applaud the decision not to put the bloody thing into orbit. There's enough crap, detritus, flotsam and remnants of humanity's profligacy up there already, just waiting for something important and expensive to crash into at a time when NASA, the agency doing actual science, is scrabbling about for funds to run the experiments on the perfectly good IMAGE satellite that was presumed lost until an amateur found its signal.

    Next up: The Evoque to Uranus project...
