  • Mazda has a gas (petrol) engine in work that may be overall more efficient than electric. We’ve been running petrol engines under 40% efficiency for years, and that means there’s still HUGE potential for improvements, and less investment needed to create an entirely new fuel infrastructure.

    Hydrogen is interesting but has its own issues.

    Perhaps there’s some breakthrough around the corner, but until then petrol is going to be hard to replace, especially if we start to see some real efficiency gains there.

    • And they are investing in a carbon capture project that can collect carbon gases and convert it into synthetic fuel so us petrol heads can still enjoy our cars
