  • This is controversial, but I'm all for this. We aren't ever going to get emissions to low levels with private cars, but with public transport there is far more potential. In urban areas specifically (take the centre of London) where you really don't need a car because public transport infrastructure is so comprehensive, nor would you want one because there is no space to have fun for an enthusiast, getting people into trains and buses, not via a mandate but mild tax increases on private transportation use would probably cost citizens less and vastly reduce emissions. That said, more sparsely populated areas should not be subjected to this because it wouldn't work at all.

  • A) Clearly she's never been to the countryside and realise how important a car, or just private motorised transport in general, is

    B) Encouraging public transport usage at the same time when the same government is trying to tackle covid?

But I think the proposal of a complete ban on private car ownership will be slim, will only badly affect the many domestic car industries, as well as negatively affecting their tax income

  • Time to leave the UK it seems.

Also: While I understand what they're talking about, this is basically just public transport with a new aspect to it. Instead of doing this, why not just improve PT even further??
