1 of 10 Ferrari J50 for sale in Japan for $3.6m

Is it worth this much?

The Ferrari J50 is a one of just ten in existence based on the 488 Spider, except comes with a lot of changes to its exterior look.

The J50 was created back in 2016 as a way to celebrate 50 years of Ferrari in Japan. The car was limited to just 10 units, and they were only sold in the Japanese market. In order to make it even more bespoke, each J50 was tailored specifically to its customer’s specifications.

It is powered by a 3.9L twin-turbo V8 - the same engine as in the 488, but this one produces 681hp sent straight to the rear wheels through a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission. It is finished in Nero Daytona and is covered in exposed carbon fibre and black Alcantara.

It is up for sale at Rosso Scuderia for an eye-watering¥398 million ($3.6 million) which puts it in the same price bracket as the world's most exquiste hypercars. Is it really worth that much?

  • It’s pretty rare even for a brand where 600 copies is a big run.

1 of 10. I think it’s worth every nickel. Unfortunately potential buyers are not too worried about me and my checkbook showing up!

  • 1 of 10. Yep, going to be big money. I wonder what it looks like with its roof in place? 🙂

  • How much is a LaFerrari?

because I'm sure a compagny like Mansory can do that with any 488, so for me it's way too much money.

    • Sure Mansory could do something like this, but it wouldn't be near what this J50 is worth, because the J50 is a Ferrari not a Ferrari with a body kit.
