Yes, it's that time of the year again and no, I'm not talking about Halloween. I'm talking about Black Friday. And actually, yes, that's kinda like Halloween. But I digress.

Black Friday gives us the opportunity to find useful stuff we might actually use at a discounted price and so, if you're looking for useful products to look after your car, this might be a good time. What I thought I'd do is put together a list of 10 items you can get on Amazon on Black Friday.

      1. Center Console Side Pocket

This is the ideal Black Friday deal and/or early Christmas present, why not, because it addresses a major issue for every American commuter: the cup holder. All jokes aside, this is essentially a side pocket thingy that you can clip onto the center console and you can use it as a cupholder or a phone holder and so and so forth.

It is actually useful and also very easy to remove which means you can just store it away when you're using it or when somebody's riding shotgun with you. Awesome.

      2. Window Curtains

If you want to get stretch limo vibes without spending stretch limo money, you can get this set of window curtains. They look a bit odd but they're definitely effective. Especially if you're maybe just trying to protect passengers from sun exposure or if you want to prevent people from peeking into the car through the windows.

Several different options available - including black, silver and gold-colored - and this is also a universal set, which means you can fit it to just about any car in the world.

      3. 12-volt car freezer / fridge

This is a refrigerated storage trunk that you can use for drinks and food by plugging it to the 12-volt connector in your truck or car. It's amazing because A, it is very spacious indeed - available with a 35, 45 or 55 liter capacity - and B, because it's very clever.

It comes with temperature memory function and three different levels for battery protection and LCD display for digitized temperature adjustment, which makes it a lot easier to regulate.

      4. Car Seat Cover

These car seat covers are made from 100 % waterproof neoprene and that means you can jump in your car literally right after a shower or a swim and rest safe in the knowledge that you won't ruin the seats.

They're also useful if you own a pet because it takes seconds to install it or remove it, fold it back and put it in the trunk when you're not using it.

      5. Ceramic coating polish

This high-gloss ceramic coating liquid serves two purposes. Firstly, it helps you polish the car and make it a bit more shiny and secondly, and perhaps more importantly, it gives your car paint a scratch resistant hardness that's going to help you keep your car in perfect shape.

The ceramic coating layer will protect the car against scratches, chipping, stains, acid rain and so on and so forth.

      6. Portable Car Vacuum Cleaner

If you want to keep your car spotless but can't be bothered to have it professionally cleaned, you can have the best of both worlds with this vacuum cleaner. Easy (and quick) to use, and perfect to remove dust, dirt, ashes, pet hair, what-have-you.

All you have to do is plug it into the 12V lighter port and there you have it, your car's clean.

      7. Steering wheel leather cover

I'll be honest, I was going to place a fluffy steering wheel cover on the list but then I thought it would make more sense to feature a steering wheel cover that people might actually use/need. This, for example, is a perfectly usable and stylish cover made from a combination of fabric and leather.

It fits perfectly for all standard size wheels from 14.5 to 15.5 inches in diameter, whether it's a truck or a car, and it's washable. Win-win.

      8. Backseat Car Organizer

This car seat organizer comes with a multi-pocket design which you can use to store tablets for the kids in the back seat, magazines, books, bottles and pretty much whatever else you can think of.

It's made from eco-friendly faux leather and it is waterproof. In addition to that, it is also suitable for most cars and trucks, and even vans.

This is actually a nice idea – make your car comfier for your kids and those long holiday drives

      9. Car Polishing Kit

This 12-piece polishing kit includes waved sponges, flat sponges, wool pads and cones to detail your car and keep it shiny and clean.

All these items are washable, which means you can reuse them, and they're perfect for removing light scratches, dirt, dust and debris from the car, while also giving it a polished, fresh-out-the-showroom look.

      10. Outdoor Car Cover

This is just a no-nonsense car cover that you can use for any car measuring anywhere between 175 length and 185 inches in length against UV rays, dust, dirt and rain as well as because the car cover is actually waterproof and windproof.

The cover comes with its own straps, which means you can easily remove it and then use it again without having to worry about gusts of wind because it won't come undone. The only downside is the red Jaguar in the picture is not included in the sale. Pah.

      11. Pet Boot Liner

This stylish cargo cover can be used to protect the boot of your car (fits any mid-size vehicle, including most SUVs and mid-size sedans) and save it from getting dirty whenever the doggo, or your tiger, joins you on a journey to wherever it is you're going.

It's made from water resistant heavy duty oxford fabric and PP cotton. It's very easy to install and you can wash it as many times as you want and keep your car clean. And it comes with quilted stitching!

We're not sure why it has a tiger in it either

      12. Blueshyhall Steering Wheel Lock

Steering locks used to be ugly as sin – but things have improved lately, and it's still an excellent way of keeping your car… well, yours. The steering wheel lock is based on a simple but clever idea, you can't steal a car that you can't steer.

This particular steering lock, coming in with a 10-year guarantee, features 10, 000 key combinations, and you get two keys in the kit, and it has an anti-drill lock made from hardened material.

      13. Mictuning Automatic battery charger

I once ran a Mazda RX-8 for two years and this, among other things, was a lifesaver. It can help you diagnose and repair your car battery, and it can be used for a variety of different vehicles, from mini vans to cars.

The LCD display gives a clear indication as to the state of charge, it doesn't get hot thanks to the built-in fan and in the case of extremely discharged batteries, the charger automatically reduces charging current until reaching a safe voltage allowing faster charging.

      14. Paint Scratch Remover

This is a reasonably priced liquid polish to help you remove light scratches, blemish and swirls from your car paint. It won't help with deep scratches or dents but it's perfect to remove the annoying defects (i.e. when people park next to your car and slam slam their car door in to your car) that come from everyday use.

      15. Philips RacingVision H4 Headlight Bulb

The efficiency of headlamps is constantly going up, improving tremendously year on year. Even if you happen to be driving alongside an equivalent car that's just 5 or 10 years older than yours in the dark, you'll notice a tangible difference.

Xenon headlights are basically already out of date, they are being replaced by LED across the board, and they're expensive, so one way to sort out this problem is to fit DYI kits with high quality headlight bulbs. This is one of the most effective bulbs for the price and it's a universal fit.

      Philips RacingVision H4 Headlight Bulbs

Seeing where you're going is underrated

      16. WindGallop Digital Tyre Inflator

This tyre inflator is the easiest thing in the world to use – just plug it into the 12V power outlet in your car and attach the hose to the tyre you want to inflate. Job done. The digital display will tell you the current PSI (you can also select other units of measurement) and the inflator will automatically turn of when the pressure reaches the preset value.

It's rated at 0-35 psi in 5 minutes, this is of course bound to vary depending on a variety of different factors but it's still pretty good.

      17. NewRuiheng Car Clay Bar

Clay bars are designed to leave the surface smooth and polished and the clay is made with molding texture that's not going to leave any residue on your fingers.

It's also a self-cleaning clay bar, in the sense that you use it, and then just put it away and leave it to dry and then it's ready for use again. Just don't drop it, though. Otherwise it will get all dusty and dirty.

      18. Industrial endoscope camera

This is brilliant. It's an HD Endoscope camera with a 4.3-inch colour screen that you can use for just about anything. Even in dark conditions, you just use the semi-rigid cable to inspect whatever it is that needs inspecting in the car, whether it's the engine or the interior, and use the camera to take pictures and videos to troubleshoot the problem effectively.

The camera comes with a built-in 32GB card, USB data cable, a hook, a protective cap and a magnet.

      • A leather cover seems really pointless. If you live in an arid climate, you’ll burn your hands off. And if you live in a polar vortex climate like Minnesota, you’ll lose all feeling.

        • that's why sun screens and heated steering wheels exist?

        • I guess car manufacturers making steering wheels with a leather cover from the factory is pointless too?

      • I have enough experience to tell you not to buy those seat covers and wheel cover.

In China, literally every car has some sort of seat cover and probably steering wheel cover too. Wheel cover is slightly better but seat covers nevef fit. They ruin the seat's original ergonomic design. The covered seats are far less comfortable than the seat itself. They make the seats look cheap. You can't access that little storage unit folded in the backseat with the cover installed. And they take time to install.

        • Why is that? Why do you suppose that seat covers are so common in China?

        • Because I am Chinese, I grew up in China and the only cars I've taken that doesn't have seat covers are new cars.
