12 DAYS OF DRIFTMAS: Mitsubishi Lancer Evo VI Tommi Mäkinen Edition - Mitsubishi, Subaru, Nissan et al used to have a 'gentleman's agreement' regarding power outputs. So officially the Tommi Mäkinen Edition makes a Japanese government-pleasing 276bhp. Yeah, right… - Luxurious the interior is not, but fabulous to drive it is. Active Yaw Control needs to be experienced - Dual-clutch gearbox? Nope, this car comes from an era when three pedals were common. Numbered plaque reveals this was one of the first cars to come to the UK - After four back-to-back World Rally Championship titles, Mitsubishi finally built Tommi his own special edition car - Double-decker rear wing familiar to Evo VI owners, but TME featured new front bumper, ditching standard car's front fog lights for more air intakes - This prized Tommi Mäkinen Edition has had its bonnet signed by the legend himself. We told Jethro that if he's going to crash, crash backwards - Forget the latest Apple products or Under Armour base layers; in the late '90s all we wanted were Brembo brakes, white Enkei wheels, and a Momo steering wheel - You could have your Tommi Mäkinen Edition in a colour other than red, and without the WRC-aping decals. But why would you do that? It's the ones that look like Tommi's company (rally) car that everyone wants today.

I think that's Mitsubishi's own heritage car...
I bet the owner dreads cleaning it, I am cringing at how the signature is wearing off 😣
If I owned it, I'd have a clear coat applied to preserve the signature.
Very timely - have just read Car magazines comparison of the MK3 Focus RS v the TME 6.5...
I won't spoil the verdict for those that haven't read it yet! : )
I owned one of these in 2004/5. It was the most breathtaking saloon car I have ever driven ! Mitsubishi had a bit of an issue with bhp declaration, 280 horsepower my arse, it was easily 300 !
