Italy is one of the most beautiful nations of Europe: this is the land of Ferrari, the land of pizza, the land of Panda, and so on.
Unfortunately, in Italy, we also have some strange legislation about car modifications... to make long story short, we can't modify anything unless we have written authorization from the car manufacturer, and of course this kind of authorization is very rare.
Talking about e30s, there are just 3 rims size allowed: 195/60 r14, 195/65 r14 and 205/55 r15 (to be honest there should be also a 175/something r14... useless).
So when you decide that it's time to put the original 14'' away, you only have to choose the width of the 15'' rims. And the BMW-approved 7'' is not enough!
Bridgestone Potenza Adrenalin RE002 fits perfectly under e30s. Hoping to be as good as the old RE720.
Choosing your width, and your offset, you have to consider two different things: front clearance between rim and strut and between rim and wheel arch.
I don't want to go too much low with my 320i (don't you know italian roads?!? remember that Italy is land of Panda... 4x4!), so my choice was 8'' width with 20mm offset.
Ok, maybe is a little bit too large for the Italian legislation but... who cares? Italian legislation doesn't take care about rim width... you just have to stay into your wheel arches... and depending on the way you look the car... you're in!

...Yes, I already know, it's time to lower the car now. Stay tuned.

interesting! looks sticky with all that tire!
On my e30 I went with the iX weaves 15"/ 7"w, 205/50 tires, and 20MM spacers all around, i'm also lowered on eibach pro-kit and bilstein B12 - no rubbing at all, I feel like its perfect amount of grip and hoon-ability!
7'' inch at the front should be the right choice. With 8'' at the front I fell the steer a little bit strange with low angles. Next step will be a B12 Prokit too, then I will check again the steer response and define if go back to 7'' or not.
