1949 FIat 500C Topolino
Photographed in September 2018 at Adelaide's Concours de Lemons
Topolino is Italian, and translates to English as "Little Mouse". Very well named!
The 500C was built by Fiat from 1936 to 1955, and over 500,000 were made!
At time of release the 500C was one of the smallest cars IN THE WORLD!
Equipped with a 549cc four-cylinder water-cooled engine which was mounting in front of the front axle, the configuration left plenty of room for passengers and/or chickens and stuff.
The 13 bhp gave the 500C a top speed of 53 mph, and it gently sipped fuel at the rate of 6 Liters/100 mk (39.2 mpg).
Now a very collectible car, prices are still reasonable - but are almost certain to keep rising! Get yours now!
