1955 Packard 400 - Back in Black

Photographed in August 2018 at Gosford Classic Cars, NSW, Australia

The Packard Four Hundred was a milestone for Packard - it was the last model Packard ever released :(

The 374 Cubic Inch V8 Power plant was new for 1955.

Transmission was an Ultramatic auto, with optional electronic push-button selector (which proved troublesome, whereas the standard column-shift was fine).

Production ran through 1955 and 1956, when the model was dropped and the longer-running Clipper line continued for another year.

7,206 400's were built in 1955, and 3.224 in 1956.
