1956 Daimler Conquest Drop-head Coupe Mk II
First off - the year of this car is a guess. They built them from 1953 to 1958.
Three models were available, saloons, roadsters and these lovely drop-head coupes!
The roadsters were built from 1953 to 1955, and then were dropped in favour of the drop-head coupes.
Only 54 of these Mk II's were built!
These cars had some very unusual features, including a sideways facing (a small) rear seat, aluminium rear panels, automatic chassis lubrication to 21 points using a pump controlled by exhaust heat at startup, and a an automatic or pre-selector gearbox.
Powered by a 2.5 Litre 4-cylinder, in 1956 this car would have cost £1,262!
