The Carrozzeria Ghia Aigle was produced in only two copies of this sympathetic low sized coupe and unfortunately has never gone beyond the prototype stage of the workshops of the Helvétique subsidiary of the body shop Ghia, located in Aigle in French-speaking Switzerland.
This pretty coupe is based on a VW Beetle chassis, its braking system taken from a Porsche 356A, the 1131cm3 VW engine (25hp) "molded foot" equipped with a compressor Judson allowing him to deliver a power of 50hp (MAG-compressor) .
Production date 30/10/1956, shipped to CH at 14–24/03/1957 for a presentation on Ghia Aigle stand at 27th Geneva Motor Show.
The prototype at 23/01–21/03/2004 exhibited unrestored with 11 other special bodied VW Beetles at AutoMuseum Volkswagen, Wolfsburg (D),finally at 06/2006 a full restoration works by Technische Restaurationen Werner Zinke GmbH, Zwönitz (D) deliver this amazing result!
