1958 Ford Mainline Ute

Photographed in September 2018 in Palmer, South AustraliF

From 1952 in Australia Ford applied the Mainline name to a locally developed 2-door coupé utility version of the Ford Customline sedan.

The Mainline utilized an imported Ford V8 convertible chassis with a large cross-member for additional load carrying strength.

The Mainline Ute sold alongside the Australian built Customline sedan, with both given yearly updates until production finished in 1959.

The Mainline Ute was replaced by the first Ford Falcon utility the following year.
