1959 Dodge Coronet with Jet power?

Would you like a jet engine with that, sir?

The 1957 Dodge Coronet received Chrysler's proven 354 cu in Hemi V8, which were in fact left over engines from the 1956 Chrysler 300B production. Camshafts from the 1957 Chrysler 392 cid engines were installed in the 354 V8s. Two Carter four barrel carburetors were added to to produce 340 bhp.

I love those fins, but they look like bolt-ons to me!

Interesting fact! The Dodge Coronet originated the Darwin Awards JATO legend, when a Jet engine was bolted into one for the Lawrence Welk show, which was sponsored by Dodge! Somehow this was meant to advertise the awesome drum brakes on the Coronet! (Link at the bottom of the article - jump to 30:00)
