1963 Impala previously owned by NBA legend Kobe Bryant goes up for sale
"All my friends know the lowrider. The lowrider is a little higher. The lowrider drives a little slower"
Last year, Chevrolet decided to end production of the Impala (again), a namesake that the American manufacturer has used for a variety of different vehicles since 1958, when the first generation was introduced.
Classic Impalas are especially popular in the world of 'donk' cars and lowriders and the car you see here, a 1963 model, is currently available with Goldin Auctions, formerly owned by none other than the late NBA legend Kobe Bryant.
Nothing about it is standard, as you'd expect, because this is a custom-built vehicle gifted to Bryant by his wife Vanessa in 2006. It was customized by West Coast Customs (remember Pimp My Ride?) and it is still in great condition, painted in a combination of purple and royal blue sitting on 13-inch 100-spoke Dayton wire wheels.
The cabin is upholstered in white leather, with contrast royal blue piping and blue carpets, and adorned with genuine Swarovski crystals.
This 1963 Impala is what some would call it a highly desirable lot, and the fact that it was owned by Kobe makes it even more valuable. The current bid, at the time of writing, is $160,000.
