1967 Holden HR Special

First released in April 1966 the HR was a facelist of the previous Holden HD which had been in built since 1965.

The HR had a reworked roofline and a larger rear window, (much nicer) revised rear lights and changes to most exterior body panels.

Other changes included a better ball joint front suspension, a widened track, nicer interior trim and woodgrain interior panels for the Premier models.

In October the HR was given a safety upgrade by way of front safety belts, windscreen washers, reversing lights, padded sun visors and a shatterproof interior rearview mirror.

Powered by the very reliable and simple push-rod straight six "Red" motor of 161 or 186 cubic inches, the HR was a very popular model which attracted a large range of performance upgrades and accessories.

They were sadly prone to a bit of rust, and really clean original examples are pretty rare.
