Released in 1968, the XT Falcon GT was immediately a huge hit in Australia, largely due to the mania sweeping the country around the touring car series of the day, and the massively popular Bathurst 1000 race, where Holden, Ford and a few Chrysler fans gathered to drink, fight, and sometimes even watch the cars go past!

The car here is the top-of-the-line performance Falcon.

A team of three XT Falcon GTs won the Teams prize in the 1968 London-Sydney Marathon, finishing 3rd, 6th and 8th outright.

Power is from a 4.9 Litre (302ci) Windsor V8, with a 4-speed manual gearbox.
