Only 1830 Merak's were built, and this is one of only 300 factory RHD's.
Not the best-known or most popular of Maseratis, the Merak nonetheless has strong classic lines, and has aged well.
The 3.0 Litre V6 is mounted centrally, and mated to a 5-speed Citroen gearbox.
The V6 produces 187hp, and pushes the Merak to a (claiomed) top speed of 240 kn/m.
Although sold as a 2+2, the rear seats are not suitable for anyone larger than a child.
In 1975 an SS version (a fake of which was featured on Top Gear) was introduced with more power, and added lightness (a 50kg reduction).
