$20,000 Forgiato 24inch Gold Wheels – For Those With More Money Than Taste
BMW's crown jewel – the 8 Series – is finally back after some 20 years off the market. It's meant to be the most elegant and sophisticated car in the BMW range, appealing to high-class owners looking for the utmost in refinement and class.
In other words, it's the polar opposite of these humongous 24-inch Forgiato Orologio-M wheels with outer elements of either gold or rose gold. Forgiato claims that each wheel takes 10 hours to cut and further few to finish them off. The company calls them 'one of a kind' I for one am glad that's the case.
Usually, I like to play the devil's advocate, argue that there is some sort of a point behind any crazy design or invention, however, Forgiato isn't making it easy... They officially state that 'only the true ballers will be bolting these up to their rides in 2019!' That paints a quite complete picture of the kind of customer these are aimed at.
The wheels do look a bit better on the Mercedes S-Class which fits the large wheels much better. Although they still make the car (and anyone in it) about as tacky as that one friend who posts google images of drugs, money and bullsh*t deep quotes about hustling on Facebook. Or Forgiatos stand at the SEMA show, where they first unveiled the wheels on a 'mysteriously' burned down Mercedes Maybach.
