V-Sport is Not a Marketing Gimmick (I’m Looking at you BMW M-Sport):
A lot of high-end automakers have sport versions of their halo car which are less expensive and offer less power but look very similar. BMW and Mercedes are notorious for offering AMG-Sport and M-Sport models which look cool, but have no actual effect on the performance of the car. Even as I enjoy the look of these models, they feel like a cop out: “Well, I can’t afford the real M5 so why don’t I try and fool people by getting a 528i with an M-Sport package.” Cadillac has just upped the ante. The V-Sport is a legitimate sports sedan with physical changes under the hood.
That Incredible V-Sport Interior:
The interior design of the V-Sport exudes the identity of this true sports sedan. Do you like Alcantara? I sure hope so, as the steering wheel, shift lever and other touch points throughout the vehicle are covered in it. I happen to love the soft, fuzzy material so I was very happy with the interior feel. Other interior appointments include very soft leather, French stitching, and real carbon fiber accents. Once you sink into your Recaro racing seats and make the necessary adjustments, you can soak in the racing feel.
Razor Sharp Handling:
The light CTS V-sport synergizes with GM’s Magnetic Ride adaptive suspension, an incredible system that can make numerous adjustments every millisecond. The suspension stays hunkered down no matter how hard you push that gas pedal. It's a thrilling sound and feel as you punch it; fuel rushes into the cylinders and 420 horses spin the rear wheels, thrusting you forward to 60 in just 4.5 seconds. What’s even better is how well this car handles itself on curvy roads. It just wants to keep going faster and faster. The question is no longer how much can the car handle, but how far will you push yourself? In the back of your mind, you’re thankful for those giant Brembo brakes ready to chomp down on the rotors at a second’s notice, just in case you push yourself over your limit.
Updated CUE System:
Thankfully all new Cadillac’s are going to have an updated CUE system; this means significantly quicker touch response times, an informative new home menu with various bits of information and a slightly different look.
The V-Sport Gauge Cluster:
A good gauge cluster can make all of the difference between an informed, exciting driving experience and a boring one. Good news for Cadillac fans: the V-Sport has one of my all-time favorite clusters. It looks like it came out of a race car, including turbo boost, a giant tach and a small spot for your speed. When you engage sport mode, the tach background color goes from grey to white, a classic V racing color. It makes driving this incredible car just that much more exhilarating.
Why CTS V-Sport:
The V-Sport is not only an incredible sports sedan with cutting edge technology, but it’s also a great value. Sure, 60 grand is a lot of money, but when you compare this vehicle to others in its class you get a lot for your money. Plus, the V-Sport is a better drivers car then the others. So if you’re looking for something that can blow people away at a stoplight and has a very focused driving feel then you need to check out the V-Sport.
