Incredibly Unique Design

Lexus has created a truly captivating sports coupe with the 2018 LC500. It’s unlike anything the brand has ever created before with striking supercar looks and raw V-8 power. It has an incredibly wide stance which only increases as you follow the sleek lines to the rear. The brawny rear side panels look like wings draping down from the rear window. The style is completed with 3D rear lights as if the rest of the car wasn’t cool enough, they pulled this one out of their magic hat.

21 Inch Wheels

Most wheel designs act as a compliment to the rest of the exterior design. However, with the optional 21” two toned wheels on the LC are a welcome center point of the design language. With wide spokes and two colors, the wheels really make this already hot car standout.

Pop Out Handles

Most cars don’t have pop out door handles and that’s because most cars aren’t the Lexus LC500. Just another way the designers at Lexus made the LC stand out. They really spared no expense and let the designers take this car from concept to production with little changes which I always appreciate.

Exhilarating Performance

In the LC500, Lexus has employed their naturally aspirated 5.0L V-8 which makes a whopping 471 horsepower and 398 foot pounds of torque. The LC is a heavy car weighing in at 4,280 pounds but still manages a 0-60 time of 4.6 seconds. Well it’s not going to be the fastest car at this price point, we guarantee it’s going to be the best looking. Of course a 4.6 second 0-60 time is still extremely fast and with a supercar exhaust note past 4k RPM’s you’ll surely feel a rush and get a giant smile on your face. It’s very wide similar to a Corvette but with its adjustable suspension and steering control you can easily pilot around sharp turns and curves with ease. The suspension has very little give, allowing you to really throw it into the corners without breaking a sweat. All things considered it’s by far the best driving Lexus we have ever tested. Comfortable when it needs to, yet still quick on its feet.

Sporty Comfort

Well the LC500 is most certainly a sports car which is highly capable on a track, it’s also a fantastic comfortable road cruiser. Even with large 21” wheels, it still rides over bumps with comfort. With adjustable drive-modes, you can select a sportier driving experience or one which gives you a more relaxed ride; the suspension will adjust accordingly. It’s really the ultimate road-trip coupe with a roomy cabin and modest trunk space.

Attention to Detail

Lexus has always been known as a Luxury manufacture but with the all-new LC and LS vehicles, they have taken their brand to an entirely different level. We now experience a level of quality and detail never seen before. The interior clock looks like an expensive timepiece and the dashboard panel looks like a modern work of art. The design was thoroughly thought out and executed meticulously.

The Time Has Come

Lexus now has a vehicle which is on-par with Aston Martin. The LC500 turns heads at an incredible rate. People are enamored with its jaw-dropping looks and unique design. Most don’t even believe it’s a Lexus. Jump inside and you’ll find an interior worthy of not just a design award but quality as well. Ultra-soft leather and Alcantara line the cabin interior making you feel as if the world is one soft bubble. When coupled with its exhilarating performance and a thrilling exhaust note, you have a Lexus which is able to stand up to an Aston Martin. The time has come for Lexus to finally be recognized as an exciting brand and not just your average luxury maker.

  • I was lucky enough to drive a prototype on an F1 track and the production model on a different track the following year. I still say that it is the most beautiful car of the 2010's. I love that it does not try (or claim) to be the best at anything. It simply does everything well while looking fantastic.
