Finally, Lotus are bring out another sports car and... it's electric
Here is a sneak peak of what the new all electric Lotus could look like which was published by Auto Express only yesterday.
The article mentioned what Lotus' CEO Phil Popham had to say about this new venture. He said “We’re busy now investing in a pretty aggressive business plan that will deliver an all-new sports car next year. We’re all about producing cars for the driver,” he added. “Our first new car is an electric hypercar. Our next car is going to be an all-new sports car.”
Marriage made in heaven, maybe?
When you think of a Lotus you think; great handling, lightweight and super quick acceleration. Can you imagine what adding an electric motor into the mix would do. We have all seen the videos of the Tesla Model S P100D acceleration in "ludicrous mode" and if you haven't then I suggest you Youtube it, it is truly amazing.
We have seen super quick electric hyper cars like the Rimac Concept Two, but that is for the super rich people. However, if Lotus get this right, we could have ourselves a rechargeable track day silent assassin.

Lotus means luxury so I think they try to democratize their cars by producing an affordable electric supercar. The British car makers suffer from the Italian rivalry over the decades.
