In a recent statement by #Honda regarding their Pikes Peak challenge, they unveiled the horsepower and torque figures of the upcoming 2021 #Acura TLX Type-S. The Type-S will be powered by a twin-turbocharged V6 that will produce 355 hp and 354 lb-ft of torque.

The TLX Type-S will be paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission and SH-AWD with real torque vectoring that can send up to 70% of available torque to the rear wheels.

But if that's too much for you, the Acura TLX will also be available with a 2.0L turbocharged 4-cylinder that will produce a healthy 272 hp and 280 lb-ft of torque. That engine will be paired with the same 10-speed automatic but it will be available with both front-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive.

The 2.0L Acura TLX is set to arrive in dealerships later this year with the Type-S variant in Spring 2021.

  • Personally I think it looks like the rear was taken off an Alfa Guilia but other than that it looks really good. I had a 2012 TSX and aside from the damn torque steer the car drove really great and had a kick to it for a 4 banger. Ridiculously reliable too from what I remember.

    • I see what you mean about the Alfa, I would love to try one of these bad boys out

  • At least it looks like Acura may be trying again.

  • Too bad both will be dogs when it comes to reliability.

Audi already has been for years and years, and now Acura is catching up fast.

  • In my mind post-2000 Acura has always had three problems: down on power, exterior styling, and meh interior. Perhaps this model addresses one or more of those issues. Remember when Acura made a young person’s car?
