1. The Bentley Flying Spur will now be available with the Continental GT's 4.0 L V8.
2. It produces 542 horsepower and 569 lb-ft of torque.
3. The V8 powered Flying Spur will arrive in the U.S next year with a starting price of $198,725.
For the 2021 model year the Bentley Flying Spur will be available with the 4.0 L V8 straight out of the Continental GT. It's a lighter alternative to the W-12 and produces 542 horsepower and 569 lb-ft of torque. This monstrous amount of power is delivered to the wheels through an 8-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission and can do 0-60 mph in just 4.0 seconds on its way to a top speed of 198 mph. The reason for this change, according to Bentley, is that more Flying Spur owners are actually driving their chauffeur ready sedans.
Believe it or not, this V8 engine is more fuel efficient, a subject that certainly interests most buyers...It does this by shutting down four of its cylinders when traveling under 3000 RPM. The now available V8 is 220 pounds lighter than the W-12 model according to Bentley. Standard equipment includes adaptive air suspension, torque vectoring, electric steering, 20-inch 10-spoke wheels, quad exhaust tips, and multiple drive modes. Optional features such as Bentley's active anti-roll technology and all-wheel steering is available.
The 2021 Flying Spur V8 will start at $198,725 and should arrive in the U.S early next year.
