Pioneered on the GMC Sierra the Silverado is queued up to get its own unique tailgate.

Starting in the 2021 model year, the Chevrolet Silverado will be available with a Multi-Flex Tailgate. The tailgate is much like the MultiPro Tailgate the GMC Sierra gets.

Exactly like GMC's MultiPro, Chevy's Multi-Flex comes with six different positions to put your tailgate in.

Primary gate much like every truck on the market, primary gate load stop which gives you a bit of an extended bed and keeps things from flying out, foldable inner gate for easy access which like it says gives you easier access to load and unload items from the truck bed, full-width step which basically turns the tailgate into a set of stairs capable of holding up to 375 pounds, and inner gate load stop.

Which tailgate position would you find most useful? Let us know in the comments below!

  • None of the big 3 have been able to make a simple tailgate handle that won't break, an origami tailgate is destine to fail

  • I'm not sure I like that since the more complicated anything is you can be sure it will be prone to malfunctioning and you can be sure this will be a major problem for GM.

I like the Ford step tail gate and handle assist but not that GM design

  • True but chances are if your paying $80k for a luxury truck your likely to not really use the bed all that much for what it should be used for but I get what your saying. It's like the old cortinas with different grills and if you had a lot of money you got headrests lol.
