Honda has announced that the 2021 Civic sedan will no longer be available with a 6-speed manual transmission. In addition, Honda has officially confirmed that the coupe model Civic will not be available for the 2021 model year.

Pricing

The sedan's base price rises $1050 due to the manual transmission being discontinued. EX, EX-L, and Touring models pricing rises $250 and hatchback Sport and Touring models also rise $250. LX hatchback models start at $22,955 and loaded Sport Touring ones are $30,155. 2021 model year Civics are on sale now.

Powertrain

A 2.0 L I-4 engine is found on LX and Sport models, while a turbocharged 1.5 L is found on higher priced ones. All Civic hatchbacks come with the turbocharged 1.5 L I-4 as standard and a 6-speed manual is available on Sport and Sport Touring models. Additionally, all Civic sedan models come with a CVT.

  • So if I want a manual civic, I need to buy the hatch. The coupe is dead. And the only other option is a CVT. This is the worst thing I’ve heard all day.

    • Me too. The Civic has committed suicide by going to a cvt. nobody who actually drives likes a cvt.
