The Mercedes-AMG GT Coupe and Roadster are getting some updates for 2021. Most noticeable is that the twin-turbo 4.0-liter V-8 engine delivers an additional 54 hp for the new model year, to 523 hp. There's also a blacked-out Stealth Edition

Mercedes claims the GT will hit 60 mph in 0.2 seconds quicker, down to 3.7 seconds. To complement the increase in power, the GT adds several standard performance items. These include adaptive dampers (known by Mercedes as AMG Ride Control), an electronic limited-slip differential, and larger front brakes from the GT C with red-painted calipers. There's also a new "Race" drive setting and lithium-ion starter battery.

The Stealth Edition, meanwhile, gets dark exterior accents, among other dark motifs. The model also features a dark chrome grille, darkened headlamps, and black brake calipers. Coupes get a tinted carbon-fiber roof, while convertibles feature a black soft top. Both black and gray paint options are available. Inside, plush leather seats with diamond quilting and a choice of carbon fiber or black piano trim add to the "Stealth" theme.

Mercedes hasn't announced prices for the 2021 GT coupe and convertible just yet, but expect both models to start at more than $115,000. Anyone looking for something a little more insane would be better served by the 720 hp GT Black Series.

  • I’d rather just get an all black GTC.

    • They got rid of the GTC, and they got rid of the cool looking yellow color.
