The new Porsche Taycan Cross Turismo is a rugged wagon version of the electric Taycan sedan, with body cladding, all-wheel drive, and a whole lot of horsepower. It'll arrive this summer in four different trim levels, 4, 4S, Turbo, and Turbo S, with prices starting $1530 higher than comparable Taycan sedan models, at $92,250. Even cooler, two electric bicycles will be included with the purchase, one for street use and the other for trails.
Porsche's Taycan Cross Turismo is nothing short of fast, with horsepower figures ranging from 469-hp in the 4 to 750 in the Turbo S. Sitting between the latter and former is the 4S with 562-hp and the Turbo with 670-hp. The Cross Turismo benefits from the Taycan's "Performance Battery Plus", a pack that houses 83.7-kWh and uses two electric motors. This results in a claimed 2.7 seconds to 60 mph for the Turbo S and standard all-wheel drive. Unfortunately, range estimates have yet to be released.
Contributing to the Taycan Cross Turismo's rugged personality is air suspension that can lift the vehicle .8 inches, or 1.2 in Gravel Mode, body cladding galore, and an array of optional features. These cost-requiring additions include an off-road design package that adds the mentioned Gravel Mode, unique front and rear fascias, side skirts, and even more cladding. A roof and rear-mounted bike rack is also obtainable.
Inside the Taycan Cross Turismo things aren't too different, with a 16.8-inch digital gauge cluster, a 10.9-inch touchscreen, and an 8.4-inch below for other controls. Naturally, headroom and cargo capacity is increased over the sedan, and the roof boasts panoramic glass as standard.
Even more, the automaker is offering two electric bicycles with the Cross Turismo: The eBike for street use and the eBike Cross for the trails. They're slated for a spring on sale date, and are attainable in three sizes.
The 2021 Porsche Taycan Cross Turismo will go on sale in the U.S this summer starting at $92,250 for the 4, $111,650 for the 4S, $154,850 for the Turbo, and $188,950 for the Turbo S.
