Is this the Nissan GT-R to have?

For some people, the R35-generation of Nissan GT-R is like beating a dead horse; it has been around since 2007 and is the gift that keeps on giving us special editions. In many ways it is like the Lamborghini Aventador, only better put together.

So with that in mind, here is the latest version of the GT-R for 2022 known as the Nismo Special Edition and it comes with a new lick of paint and some serious turbo boost.

This new sports car from Nissan features a Nismo-exclusive paint called Stealth Grey, new 20-inch forged aluminum wheels with red accents, an exposed carbon fibre bonnet and some more red accents.

It's pretty and all, but what we are really interested in is its upgraded turbos. The Nismo Special Edition for 2022 will be powered by the same 600hp 3.8L twin-turbocharged V6, except Nissan says this one uses specific "high-precision, weight-balanced parts for the piston rings, connecting rods, crankshaft, and valve gear components dialed in with tighter tolerances, delivering snappier engine revs and quicker turbo spooling."

And as always, mated to its V6 engine will be a six-speed dual-clutch transmission which sends all the power to all four wheels to allow for a sub-three-second 0-60 mph time.

All this comes at quite a hefty price, mind. The 2022 Nissan GT-R Nismo Special Edition is set to go on sale this autumn and will have a staggering base price of £152,836 ($210,740).

  • Id love to have one of these. Even more so than a special R34. Unless its the 1 of 2 midnight purple. But paint is just paint. I could do that. Id need the certification to be worth more than this thing.

That special engine work is beautiful. And will probably be a pain in the ass in a couple years.

  • the NIssan R35 GT-R is almost like a very sad Japanese copy of the Pagani Zonda, they keep coming out with 'new' examples to keep it alive...
