Subaru has announced that the 2022 BRZ will be unveiled later this fall. It has been 8 years since the Toyota Scion Subaru 86 FRS BRZ (Did I miss any?) has been redesigned. The next generation BRZ should arrive in the U.S next year and could possibly come with a new Toyota 86. Subaru has teased the BRZ in a couple of different photos, however most of the known information is from spy shots: The only features we can perceive are 10-spoke wheels, new headlights and taillights, a honeycomb grille, and an integrated rear spoiler.
There have been many speculations as to what will power the next-generation BRZ, the main one being a 2.4 L F-4 that could be turbocharged to produce 260 horsepower or naturally aspirated to generate 217 horses. It's expected to come standard with a manual transmission and an automatic option.
The next-generation Subaru BRZ should arrive in the U.S sometime next year, with a starting price of about $30,000. We will learn more about the 2022 BRZ the closer it gets to its unveiling.
