Mazda has finally confirmed that the Mazda CX-30 will be getting the 2.5 L turbocharged I-4 that is also found in 3, 6, CX-5, and CX-9 models. You can read the first article I wrote regarding a turbo CX-30 by clicking here. This engine generates 250 horsepower and a monstrous 320 lb-ft of torque, and will make the CX-30 the fastest in its class. This turbo model will come standard with all wheel drive, and a 6-speed automatic transmission. Wait! How do are people going to know my CX-30 is faster than their 201 horsepower Kia Soul? It will come standard with 18-inch black wheels, black side mirrors, larger exhaust tips, and a Turbo badge.
Pricing has not been announced yet, but I expect it to be around $32,000 as the top trim level currently starts at about $30,000. It should appear in dealerships with this reasonable price by the end of the year.
