3 watches you can buy on Black Friday/Week

Up to 80%

There’s an elephant in the room and I’ll address it right away: I’m always a bit wary when it comes to Black Friday deals because sometimes, that’s the case here, you get 40-50%, which is concerning, or even up to 80%, which is even more… telling.

Anyway, that’s probably more of a conversation about the economy and the dynamics of the consumer market and marketing and so on, but we’re talking about watches, so I’ll just stick to that, and present you with three watches that you can with a huge discount, and I think they’re worth it. They’re in no particular order, but they’re all under $1,000.

Yema Rallygraf ‘Mario Andretti’ (30% off)

Yema is a good brand that’s making a comeback after spending many years in the history books, in the ‘has-been’ chapter. It was founded in France in 1948 and they’ve recently teamed up with Mario Andretti, former F1 racing driver and legend, for this limited-edition Rallygraf.

It’s powered by a Seiko VK64 Mechanical-Quartz hybrid movement: the quartz module operates the time measurement complication, while the chronograph is powered by a mechanical movement. In other words: the seconds hand ticks, the chronograph hands sweeps.

The 39mm stainless steel case incorporates a mineral domed crystal and it is available with a mesh (Milanese) bracelet, or a racing-style rubber strap.

It’s normally priced at $429, available for $299 for the next few days.

Undone Blacksand Popeye (%25 off)

This is the ‘Destro’ edition of the Popeye watch that Undone - a brand that specialises in customisable watches and timepieces with popular cartoon and pop culture characters - launched about a year ago.

They call it the ‘Blacksand’ edition, and the biggest talking point is obviously the crown, which is located on the left-hand side of the 40mm stainless steel case. And, well, there’s Popeye on the dial.

It’s powered by a Seiko-sourced automatic-winding movement with a 2-day power reserve. It normally retails for €488 ($522) but it’s available for €349 ($391). They also had a huge 80% deal on a Batman-themed watch but it’s sold out. But there’s at least a 25% discount on any watch they sell.

REC P-51 (40% off)

REC Watches is a brand you may be familiar with, we’ve mentioned it often on DT mostly because what they do is quite unique: they craft wristwatches from components they salvage/retrieve from classic cars. Which is quite cool.

Their watches can be a bit pricey sometimes, buy you get 30-40% off on Black Friday week.

If I had to pick one, I’d go with a watch from the P-51 collection, which is the collection inspired by the Ford Mustang. The movement is a Miyota automatic with a 2-day (+) power reserve. Normally available for $1,495, you can get it for $897. There are several variations in terms of dial and strap combos, but I’d go for the classic silver dial + brown leather strap combo.

Where do you stand? Do you normally pay attention to Black Friday deals? And what do you think of these watches? Let me know in the comments below.
