30 years ago Peugeot gave wanna be tuners something to do with the new 106

In 1991, Peugeot unveiled the 106, a small (3.56 mt) and compact city car that was supposed to act as a gateway to entice a new generation of frugal buyers...which it did. But the 106 also happened to become extremely popular with youngster who just wanted to 'pimp' their ride. Back in the early 2000s, at the height of the Fast&Furious/Need For Speed-fuelled tuning frenzy, the 106 was absolutely ubiquitous if you happened to frequent tuned cars meeting, which I did. And I liked it.

  • Never mind the tuned up ones, the BEST was the 1.1, 4-speed version. Huh? Yup, it was the one that did the MOST mpg! I just knew you'd be interested.
