40% of Americans prefer the Ford Mustang Mach-E over the Tesla Model Y
The Ford Mustang Mach-E caused a lot of controversy when it was first released. It uses the name "Mustang" while being an electric SUV, which is a real sacrilege for muscle car enthusiasts. This did not prevent the Mustang Mach-E from being very appreciated by "normal" people as this chart shows.
The latter was made by PartCatalog and shows the preferences of Americans between the Mustang Mach-E and its main rival, the Tesla Model Y. On Twitter, more than 10,000 tweets with geotags in which this or that electric car was mentioned were used to make this interesting map.
The Tesla Model Y is still in the majority of discussions with 30 states concerned. The Ford Mustang Mach-E occupies the rest of the American states. The Ford is of particular interest in the center of the country and, surprisingly, Florida. Of course, these are only analyses of discussions and therefore this map is not completely representative of future sales of the two vehicles.
However, we know that when a vehicle is often mentioned and keeps coming back on the forums, it can only be a good sign. Looking at the map, we can see that Ford has every chance to compete against Tesla. All that remains now is to wait for the commercial results that will be announced at the end of the year.
